After 2 grueling hours, i finally finished installing my new brake light on my spoiler. Man it was a mission, but it's so sweet to have it working again. I had to take off the entire spoiler in order to feed the wire into the trunk. If anyone needs help installing a new light, let me know. I'll try to make it an easier job for you.

I need to change mine out too; all of the LED's are dead. I'm just reluctant to throw away my old MAXIMA.ORG sticker that is on the light.

Where did you get the LED bar from and how was the fit compared to the original one?

i attempted to remove my spoiler to stop the LED from rattling. broke 2 bolts on the spoiler even with WD40, one just spun, and one came off.... the LED itself, first 2 screws easy, #3 wouldnt come off... worst project ive had on the car yet.... :*(

Info for Sinewave

Here's the website where I bought my LED strip. They are pretty fast about sending it to you. I waited about a week for ground delivery. They have three different types, it depends if your spoiler is an OEM or not. One has "ears", one has no ears and one of them has a clear casing with red LEDs.

http://www.electrodyne.cc/Merchant2/merchant.mv?

if that link doesn't work, go to www.electrodyne.cc and type in "rear brake light" in the product search. The one you are looking for is part # 555111 ($23.81) or #555111DOT ($39.37).

Hope this helps

Have you done the alternating blinker mod? if not I can show you how.

Yeah, we'll have to get something organized. Keep an eye on the Southeast Region forum for upcoming stuff. A few weeks ago MardiGrasMax and Cumalot made a trip to BR for a dyno session.

Did they go to Lightning motorsports to get it done? I've been there a few times but never did a dyno test, just bought some stuff. Still working on Comestics before i do Performance. BTW, how much was it to get those custom seats? I like!!!

I didn't go with them but I think it was Lightning.

Thanks for the complements on the seats, they are from Leatherseats.com. I got them on a group deal back in February for $565 plus shipping, etc. The 2-tone and embroidery were no extra charge! My brother and I installed them in about 8 hours. In many ways they are superior to the factory leather.

Yeah, Mardigrasmax and I went up to BR to dyno his car. We met up with Nelzavala and another LSU guy, Seven. The dyno was at Lightning Motorsports.

Is it possible to replace the led bar without taking off the spoiler? Maybe just unscrewing the bar cutting the wire and soldering it to the new wire. I bought my aftermarket spoiler off of e-bay from spoilers4less.com and the led bar doesn't work anymore. I'm down to like 2 LEDs. Really embarassing drving around like that. If the only way to change it is to take the spoiler off I might just leacve it the way it is.

BTW it's better to type in spoiler brake light when using the search on that page.

Installing LED

There are two ways of doing it:

1- Taking off the spoiler and fishing the wire through the hole and then to the trunk (NOT RECOMMENDED)

2- or you can cut the wire in the trunk and tie a piece of fishing wire to it and when you pull out the LED bar, the fishing wire is then pulled through the spoiler. All you have to do next is tie the NEW LED bar to the fishing wire and pull it back through to the trunk.
Thats that way I wish I would have done it.
Hope this helps.

Sorry to bring a post back from 2 years ago, but could someone detail exactly how the fishing wire thing works?

Thanks,
-Brian.
