FS: PLX R-500 wideband AFR datalogging computer kit

I've got an unused new in box still wrapped up PLX R-500 wideband AFR datalogging computer kit for sale. I paid $579 for this kit and it has been sitting in my closet since I received it.

Price is $500 shipped to your door - I'm open to reasonable offers as well.

Info on the kit can be seen here:

http://www.plxdevices.com/products/r500/

Picture of the actual kit for verification of unused and not even taken out of the wrappers condition

As you can see, it looks very similar to an S-AFC - it would look totally sweet if someone were to do a custom installation double-DIN sort of setup with an SAFC or an E-01 or something.

What exactly is the difference between this and the neo or vafc 2?

PLX = Data logger, cannot change anything, does what it says, logs data from various inputs.

AFC = Manipulate MAF V to alter AFR in a very RAW nature.

This is very elementary stuff (re:L this particular forum), and I don't want to flood Nealocs thread, so read up on it.

It's a wideband O2 sensor with a bunch of other datalogging functions - has nothing in common with SAFC besides that they look similar. SAFC is used to change parameters on your car to tune it, this is used to make sure that your changes don't blow your engine up by monitoring in real time and/or datalogging a number of different parameters.

Thats a sweet deal.... hopefully i'l have my disassembled 3.0 and tranny sold by this weekend, and then I can get this off of your hands...

Do you have to tap into your Wiring harness to install the R-500?? I'm assuming you do since it gives read outs of MAF, throttle%, etc... right!?

Do you have the installation procedures to install it into the A32 wiring??

All you need us the FSM. It uses essentially the same wires as the VAFC/SAFC and your choice of a couple of others. For instance, speed(MPH) and ECT(coolant temps) can be tapped into and converted using the provided R500 software. I have the 300, so my unit isn't as cool as this one, but they are closely related in their functions/set-up.

Here's my thread re: ECT/TPS tapping (5th gen though, not a big difference with respect to wiring though).
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=500859

The MAF readout is odd because it reads voltage and not actual airflow. The 2 paramteres are not linear. I've got a V vs gm.s curve somewhere and they're not as closely related as I would like.

Wiring is simple like NMex said. All you need is a wiring diagram and to not be colorblind (so as to be able to tell what colors the wires are).
