More discussion on iPod adapter for '06
More discussion on iPod adapter for '06
It seems to me that there are several options for this if you own an '06: Nissan sells an iPod adapter which I hear is a sure thing, but it is expensive. I was just on the ActiveTuning website and they offer several options for connecting your iPod to the stock stereo (thought they don't say Bose exclusively).
One is the Peripheral electronics adapter http://www.activetuning.com/products/multiple/PXNI/ and it is $150 (free shipping.
The other is also by Peripheral but it seems more geared for iPod http://www.activetuning.com/products/universal/PXP01/ but it is $49.99.
I honestly don't do audio/visual too well so could someone explain to me these options. The main thing is that I (as well as many others I am sure) want my steering wheel controls to still work and still get Bose quality sound with it.
Yes, I recognize that there have been previous threads on this but none have really answered my questions here and most those threads have disapeared into oblivion. I don't mind spending the cash on the Nissan adapter, but I want to know that what I am getting best matches what I am aiming for.
Thanks for your input here.

Hey Matt-In my opinion, if you can do the factory solution, I would tell you to go for it! From what I understand, with the factory solution, if your vehicle is compatible, you get steering wheel control, HU control and best of all it looks clean and sounds clean! Unfortunately I have an 07' and I can't do the factory option..
I looked at the solutions you were contemplating and when you look at how much you would spend going with the alternatives, you'd be better off with the factory solution since you retain the most functionality. Again, this is all assuming that your vehicle is compatible with the factory solution. I definitely encourage you to do your homework. Also, if you decide to do it, can you share pix from the back of your factory HU? I'm curious to see how it differs from the 07 unit.
Best of luck!
