Do I need new Rotots?

Hey all i went to a local mechanic to change my struts. I got some KYB G2 struts.. all four for $300.00 The labor was 200.00. The guy installed the struts and brakes. Front brake pads and rear pads He told me i needed new rotors... But i kinda ran out of money... So he installs everything and i hit the road.... When i am driving from 1mph to 20 mph i can hear a loud grinding vibration noise in the rear. However When i hit the brakes the noise fades and can not be heard. The noise does not come up often when i am braking. in fact it will stop. when ever i go over a dip in the road or a man hole i feel a slight bump but no noise. All the noise is coming from the back when driving slow. If i am driving faster like 35mph or better the noise is not exsistant even when i am hitting the brakes... any ideas... All the noise is coming from the rear and i can feel the vibrations on the floor... I have Stock 15's and kept the same springs... I took it back and he greased it and nothing... should i do the rotors or is he jerking me around...

You might need new rear brake pads. Take wheel off, inspect for sticking caliper, an material left on pad.

Sticking caliper:

If there is not enough material left on the pad, the indicators will rub the rotor slightly.

Cliffs:
Inspect yourself and see if there any oddities. Also, inspect his work (strut install)

New brake pads always make this noise
after about 100 miles the grinding noise will go away once the grooves in the rotors wear out the same patern in the pads. Don't worry about it. If after a few days of driving the noise is still there then let us know.

it's the light rubbing across the surface when the brakes are not engaged that makes that sound. If the sound goes away when braking it is most likely because the pads still have't worn to the profile of the rotors. But yeah if it doesn't go away after a bit of driving (doesn't take a whole lot, probably less than 100 miles) go back and complain. I just put new pads on mine and it was making that grinding noise too at first, but it went away just fine, now they are quiet and smooth.
