Nismo Short Shifter

The Nismo short shifter, is it worth buying? Does it shorten shifting and how much shorter is it over stock?

Here's a nice little writeup in the FAQs that tells a little about it:
http://www.vbxmaxima.8m.com/shifter.html
assuming that the NISMO shifter is the same thing as the Courtesy Nissan, which is what I would guess.

Got one in my car. make sure you get your own bolt b4 hand. I'm a machinist so i took it to work and had the welder check the welds -- Loved them, then i took it to the inspector and he ran a few tests (lpi and ultrasound) on it and they passed, then i put it in a hydraulic press, held all the way to 300psi (didn't go further so as to not break it). #00psi is more preasure than we will put on it even if you are slam shifting it. Love it.

there's a bolt on the bottom of the shifter that goes thru the shifter and both sides of the linkage. The original is too fat to fit thru the new shifter and it's bearings.

by the way the only real short throw shifter available at least for the 4th gen maximas is B&M shifter the others are just shorter lenght sticks read more about this here

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=219944
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=255634

by the way i wrote this several times no matter how much you cut down the stick it will not shorter the thorw of the shift what the sts do is shortens the distance between each shift instead of traveling like 3" or so from 1st to 2nd and so on it only takes like 1 1/4" or something like that

one more thing nismo don't make any short throw shifter for the max

dude. its a thread, who cares its not like these links are running out, its the internet! we have infinite of everything on the internet. who cares if you dont like it then dont post.

anyways i know its kind of a janky makeshift way to get a shorter shifter is to cut it an inch or two thats what i did, but basically the only thing in a short throw is that the pivit ball is moved higher towards your hand (obviously you knew that) anyways i would save some extra cash and just cut it your self. thats what ive heard alot of people do on the org.

im just sayin.

Just an FYI to all you ohmygoditsnismojdmkewl dinkers... Nismo make ZERO parts for the maxima... these are all cheap knockoffs of the pacesetter short throw, which was not that great to begin with, then make a knockoff of it... You get what you pay for.
