Is there a thread that has the best tuneup brand parts for our cars?

Just wondering cause I been searching on this site and I know all the things to do(Which I already know and know how to completely do btw, so I am not looking for a Tuneup FAQ) but is there a section or a thread on this site that shows the best results from the brands used in a tuneups with prices?

For example... NGK Plat Spark plugs would be some of the best and most recommended Spark plugs on this board for Maximas and they go for like $10 bucks a pop @ Autozone...

Stuff like that. In fact, If there is not a topic like that, I think it should be made so people don't make a million topics about what is the best wires and plugs...

Thanks

O and BTW, I mine as well ask what are the most recommended and really good O2 sensors? because I am doing a y-pipe in a month

Nissan parts FTW!!! Your local discount nissan dealers or courtesynissanparts.com would be a good choice and prices are about the same as autozone

Are the NgK Iridium spark plugs better than the platinum.

yes please go to the dealership(or any autostore), and try to order some spark plug wires for your 4th gen maxima. let me know what they say.
there have been plenty of 02 sensor threads. and why would you want to cheap out on spark plugs...just get OEM ..which are ngk.

NGK Copper is the way to go...they last about 15-30K (i think), but cost alittle over $1. I replace mine every year.

NGK is OEM. Platinum FTW. Copper if you NEED to or if you plan to change them every year or so.. if not, plats are good for 100,000 miles.. though I'd never leave plugs in THAT long I dont care what they say!

with the o2 sensors the oem ones are bosch anyways, it's just a matter of spending the $70 for the universal o2 sensors and then dealing with hooking up the suspect splice connectors. But for stuff like belts, fuel filters, etc, oem ftmfw.

seems like i've heard not to go with OEM oil pressure senders since they will start leaking again sooner, but this may just be hear-say

I heard people have all sort of problems with OEM O2 sensors, how long you have them in car and did you faced any issue. How much you paid?

Nissan ... Dave B ... all i'm sayin! lol

I like Bosch for my filters (better quailty I feel) and belts ... OEM baby! Nissan did something right when the made this car and they have kept it right by keeping this car going! there may be "better" parts out there, but if Nissan OEM parts work just as well ... wtf is the difference anyway? It's like the generic cereal vs Post ... same stuff in the box. Local stealerships will get every penny and drop of blood they can for the parts ... if you can find better than Dave B to get parts (cheeper) you should clue ALL of us in please!

The O2 sensors don't need to be replaced unless you're getting a CEL code for a faulty one.
Replacing all three at a tuneup would be a bit overkill.

$70 is on the lower side for 02's. i'm used to seeing 110$-180$ for an o2 sensor.

^^.. maximas don't have spark plug wires. they use ignition coils.

so going into the parts department asking for wires would be pretty funny.

Good point. I was thinking about that until I was like... umm naw... can't be what they were referring too heh...

but Spark plug wires and Ignition wires are pretty much referenced to the same thing regardless of it being ignition coils or a distributor setup(Even though they are completely different and for you to change those the coil wires the ignition coils come off with them).

Either way, do you think most auto parts stores would really care or some people that work there would even know? lol...

For O2 (oxygen) sensors, I've read some good forum opinions on the Denso brand (here). Apparently (haven't called them yet), they have a .org group deal for 10% off of credit card orders and 15% off money orders (who uses THOSE anymore?).

http://tinyurl.com/rbrwrk is the product page for the '96 SE O2 sensors (though they should work for all the 4th gen. models). The OEM fit (not cheapo universal fit that requires wire splicing) is cheap: less than $56 each at the time of writing. RockAuto.com has them for about the same pricing, but with Denso's direct .org group deal, they'll come out ahead.

Haha! Hey, it seems we all have our 4th gen's breaking down sooner or later. For me, it's some O2 sensors and a cracked radiator. Not too expensive, luckily.

SparkPlugs.com discount code – “maximaorg” will give members 10% off Bosch and NGK products through the end of the year. Not sure if this is just spark plugs, but I think it applies to other products like oxygen sensors and etc...
