Cheated by a Mod - max95q

I was trying to buy springs from max95q who happens to be a moderator.
From this thread:
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=523807

I paid via paypal on June 11, 2007. I patiently waited and waited, while he claimed to have paypal issues. Eventually it got to be enough and I asked for a full refund on July 16, 2007, he responded saying it would take 2-3 days to transfer from paypal.

Well I gave it until July 24th and no money so then filed a dispute with paypal, which I have since won. But who knows if I'll get my money back. Since the 16th all emails and PMs have been ignored even though he continues to post on this forum. So I'm curious how someone who steals money can become a moderator on this forum?

do not deal with max95q
EDITED - Removed personal info on max95q's request.

EDIT II - All issues have been resolved. I received my money back on August 14th.

The sad thing is we've already talked about the whole situation and I told him I would send his money by mid of this week. I keep my word, itll get sent all 34 bucks of it. PM's and emails have not been ignored and I have responded. You stoop too low my friend.

Wow. u only waited 5 days till asking for a refund? Im not taking any sides as Ive been beat before, although not buy any org member but still getting beat is harsh....but 5 days? Ive bought and sold numerous items here on the org and 5 days isnt that big a deal. Plus why would he beat you for 35 bucks?

Just so I don't look like a liar, here are screen shots from my PMs:
Note the dates of JUNE 11th, payment sent.
Asked for refund JULY 16th (35days).
Promised refund in 2-3 days from JULY 19th
I filed a claim with Paypal on JULY 24th, mostly because emails and PMs were ignored.
Only after posting this and sending an email with the link did max95q reply.

My PM Inbox, Note no PMs between July 16 and Today

---------------------------------------------------

---------------------------------------------------

Promised Refund PM, July 16th

Easy for you to say that when it is not YOUR money getting screwed with.

You are not here to make excuses because there is no excuse for this to go on for nearly two months.

Just refund the poor guy his money, and don’t act like he is sinking low… You seem to have left him no choice but to post it up here.

If we had Dee Di Dee I may be able to spell it out for you just alittle bit better but since I dont I posted in regular english instead.

You expect anyone; especially him to believe that you will UNTILL the money is in his hands?

You have already given him the run-around for two months.

Mighty ballsy of you to refer to me as a "dee di dee" when you can't even figure out how to ship a set of springs, respond to an email/pm or even figure out the Refund option on PayPal...

For a mod, you are acting quite like an *******. Just refund the money back to the guy. You are already in the wrong by giving the guy a run-around for the past 2 months. I think his mod badge should be stripped.

Ive already owned up to the actions since the first post. I even told him before this was even posted. There is no need for discussion. If you feel the need to do your little bashing go ahead. Im not trying to fight this whole mess. Im just trying to get it resolved as I have stated since my first post. You see a mod mess up and you pounce on the opportunity. Im sorry I have a life, Im sorry **** happens. Im not happy for it, and as you can see I am trying to correct the issue. Thats more than what you get from people on here who really do **** people over. I wasnt trying to get over on anyone. I messed up, plain and simple. Sorry I was a person with a life and real life situations. You cant be perfect all the time, you learn from your mistakes and make sure they dont happen again. Im done posting about this whole thing, so do what you want man but honestly Ive owned up to it, stated the obvious, and said he'll get his refund this week.

All it would have required was a response to an email or a PM. But as you can see for three weeks all my attempts to contact him were ignored even though he continued to post on the forum .. and ironically try to sell something else. In my last PM I stated that I didn't want to make it public and gave him a few days to respond. He never responded but continued to post on the forum, so I know he wasn't on vacation or without computer access. Only when posting this thread and sending him a PM to the link, did he finally respond.

I feel I've been patient in this whole ordeal, but when someone continually fails to deliver on promises and then just blows off all attempts to communicate what options do you have?

Honestly if it were a normal person doing this he/she would be banned for a some time. Now that it's a mod is there some type of exception? Rediculous, regardless of how it's put. You can say that you have a life and life's obsticles but that doesn't exclude you from your obligations if you buy/sell things. Did you not send the money for your mortgage, car note, etc. because of problems?

Wow!!!

Just to clear this up, people on here that don't hold up their end of business deals aren't typically banned so as they have the availability to contact the other party as well as speak up about the said situation. Don't generalize this situation and say that if I were to rip someone off I wouldn't be banned but an other member may.

I stand corrected... It does makes sense that he/she be able to contact and resolve the situation. However, is no punishment awarded at all? It's whatever in all honesty... I personally won't be doing business.

Qijuan, suggest you post up a screen capture of the email so you can show that this has been settled once and for all and all involved parties can move along.
