Black tinted bumper lights on a black maxima
Black tinted bumper lights on a black maxima
I got my hands on a can of Niteshades and was thinking about painting my clear bumper lights black...but I'm not sure if it'll look good or not.. anybody ever seen a black max with black bumper lights?
Looking for some opinions. Thanks

my car isn't black, but a real dark blue (granite pearl to be exact) and I tinted my bumper lights and I feel it looks great and have gotten many compliments on it. Check my sig for pics and info.
i made a thread about this a few months back, but cant find it. I guess anything in the members rides gets deleted after page 2...
but anywho, check ethnic6 's homepage. he had made a thread showing his off and i remember responding to it but like i said that thread has disappeared.

I am pretty sure JSutter (where I got the pictures from) tinted his Ambers
Personally, i like the clears better.
But, if you like tinted, i think clears would look a lot better than smoked ambers.
In the end though, the final decision is up to you, its your car.

I'm gonna do the work this weekend, I'll post pics when I'm done.
Here are some pics I found on vqpower.

The top is a 97-99 obviously, and the bottom is a 95-96. Mine's a 97 and I like the look of the top pic. It's like the bumper lights aren't even there. Very clean

I didnt vote..........I think its a toss up, sometimes im ready to buy bumper lights clear or black doesnt matter, than say f it and im still on stock ambers.
99% of everyone who changes the looks of their rides end up going stock for whatever reason.

I have black tinted bumper lights that I bought off of EBAY because they were selling for less than the stock amber prices. I don't really care too much for show, really just wanna do more go.
They actually do look pretty nice though I have to admit. Makes the maxima look a little more aggressive. And my car sticks out from all the crappy maximas in the area who try to sport their clear bumper lights.
I have to say it looks crappy because No one shells out that extra 20 bucks for a decent set of daimond cuts.
The main downfall is functionality. I've had a couple close calls during the daytime while making turns at four ways. People have a hard time seeing my turn signals in the light. I'm about to switch over to amber bulbs to see if it makes any difference. Hopefully that works out well.

I finally got around to putting these on.. 3 coats of Niteshades and a clearcoat (niteshades doesn't leave them glossy.. and IMO they look much better glossy like the rest of the car/lights).
Also got some rims on her now..

Lol, when I showed my friend that picture he said "oh, it's a 4X4?"
But yeah, the wheel gap is really bothering me now.. this weekend I'm going to try and get some friends with tools to help change the struts out..
I'll post pics after that endeavor.

change the struts out? just the struts? for what?
Its all a mater of what your into, i happen to like contrast so for you i'd stick to clears, i have a gold max so i went with blacks. If you dont like contrast then get the black ones, maybe even the black headlights too, but i had to retro when i got the headlights last weekend.

The light output was really bad, i didnt listen to what people said when i posted a poll going back a while. Then once i had them on for 1 night after work i realized just how bad it is, its like driving at night on a motorcycle, not too fun.
