Whats safe to scrub on dark Cars

With all the bugs, grim, bird poo, tar, and other things that need "scrubbing" what kind of items do you use to clean stubborn dirt?
Im wondering whats safe to scrub with?

TIA

I've also used those small sponges covered with netting.

Why not use a clay bar?

Best bet is to wash the car first with one of the mits that have the netting them, then use that yellow sponge, then clay bar and if it still does not come off, then it is most likely stained in the clear coat which=sol for the most part

good luck

If you use a clay bar first, then it will just gunk up with crap that you could have gotten off another way.

True dat. Bugs and tar will dirty up a clay bar really fast. I have used a clay bar for that stuff when I've had one that is almost ready to toss. I wouldn't use a brand new one for bugs and tar.

If the area is really bad then just get a microfiber towel and use bug & tar remover. I'm pretty sure that if you use bug & tar with a clay bar, then the alcohol in it will make the clay bar useless really quick.
