Brake troubles!!!

So i got my rear calipers in yesterday and today i decided to put on just the driver side. Everything came off nice, put on the new brackets and calipers, and kinda did a shoty bleeding job. Anyway, new pads are on the driver side but the passenger side is waiting for tommorow. Problem im having is with the handbrake down the brake light is still on, and there is no holding force behind the handbrake. Also my brakes all around are terrible, pedal goes to the floor and could barely stop me at 2 mph. I know i put the handbrake stuff on correctly, line in the slot with the clip, line on the hook, and then the spring. cant figure it out. Hopefully this is a side effect of having two unbalanced brakes.
As for the bleeding we basically opened the connector of the brake line while i pressed on the brake to the floor, was i supposed to pump it first? And yes we closed the line before releasing the pedal up.

Any help is welcome because right now i cant drive it.

finish the brakes and bleed all lines and i think you'll get the pedal pressure back. as for the emergency brake, make sure its hooked on the the new caliper tightly. i had that problem with the brakes after gettin new rear caliper on left side. and fill master cilinder to full, when's the last time you did a flush?? makes a huge difference if the fluids dirty.....

^^Exactly what he said. You must have some air in the system-so just finish putting new pads and calipers and bleed the brakes in correct order (right rear, left front, left rear, right front).
And yes it helps to build up a pressure while pumping the brake pedal few times before opening valve. Just don't let the master cylinder run dry or you'll have to restart it all over

Ended up being the bleeding done wrong. I was bleeding by unscrewing the bolt that holds on the hose, i thought the bleeder was a grease valve. The parking brake was fixed by putting on the other new caliper. The brakes are still alittle mushy but they kick in at about half pedal height. I think this is because the front pads are very worn and i didnt do a full change, only rears. Bled the rear 7 times each and the fronts 4 times each, since they were looking real good. The rear right side basically foamed out, the first time, rear left had a few bubbles.
Thanks for all the help.
