need some quick electrical help...front speaker wire

need some quick electrical help...front speaker wire

I'm installing front speakers and I don't know which wire is pos/neg. there are two wires, one with a white stripe and one with a yellow stripe. which is which?

I dont think it matters.

If anything, try one way then if it doesnt work, reverse. I'm like 90% sure it doesnt matter though.

If you have a volt/ohmeter the one that is the ground wire will probably read zero ohms when you have one lead on the wire and the other lead of the ohmeter on chassis ground.

And if that doesn't cut it, go into the ICE forum and find the wiring diagram in the FAQ. Also, with some alarm wiring schematics, they'll include speaker wire colors too. Lemme kno if u need more info.

why would you blow a speaker by wiring it reverse polarity?

I wired mine completely randomly and I blast them with no problem. Either it doesn't matter or I got lucky as hell on wiring. Besides, the speakers worked fine when I tried reversing the wires.

Mine too.

Thats why i thought it wouldn't matter.
