I just bought a 97 SE 5spd and the shifter trim that holds the boot is broken. From what I've been reading this seems like a common occurence. I've called some junkyards and I think it's going to be almost impossible to find one local. Do you guys have a recommendation on where the best place to buy this piece would be? I got a quote for $69 for it w/ the stock boot. What do you guys think?

Also have many of you guys w/ 5spds broken this piece or had to replace it before? Thanks in advance!

 

i went two already the kid before me who had the car put a auto shifter bezel in looked stupid found someone on here who sold me one almost brand new for $30 with a boot. Just wait and post in the for sale/ wanted thread for 4th gens and someone might reply back having one..

I was watching one on ebay. It went up to $76 + shipping and then i decided not to even bother looking at it anymore

Mine cracked but not in the same place. It cracked where the car plugin is theres a crack going from the left side of the trim to the plugin to the ash tray. and i just bought a boot off ebay for 17 $ Its of good quality

Yea I ordered the shifter surround and some other misc dash parts from that company yesterday...its the Nissan/Infiniti Scottsdale dealership.

i got one for sale, i went to the junkyard and pulled for sh** and giggles, came off from a 96 maxima, black on black interior,
make an offer

 

hahaha, You have it easy! My woodgrain one was chipped just a little, not worth paying $110 for one, finally waited and 6-months later I scored one for $10 from the local pick-n-pull

 

well mine is wood grain to, but i pulled one from an automatic and i just shaved around the edges and made home made clips to hold the boot
