Okay, I have almost completed my entire trunk. Those blasted bars in the back still feel the need to sing their own tune. Does anyone have any effective suggestions on fixing, I'm sorry, eliminating this problem.

What bars? Do you mean the balance beams taht slow the decent of the trunk? Try pipe insulation.

Yep, those are the bars. I'm going to try pipe insulation this weekend. All the Dynamat in the world is not taking care of it.

Actually, they might no make pipe insulation that narrow. You want a tight fit. It may be better to get some thin adhesive backed weather stripping. I've got some in my garage but can't remember the type of rubber, maybe urethane or silicon. I don't have the problem of the bars rattling because I don't have the bars. They also sell a new rubber based paint at most Home Depots and Lowes. It is similar to the tar spray but just a plain weather resistant rubber. Shouldn't have the intense tar fumes of the traditional stuff. They also sell it in small cans for dipping hammer and other tool handles. You should be able to apply with a brush.

I tried wrapping the bars in Dynamat. Didn't really work. I believe I'll have to put myself in the trunk to see where it is exactly coming.
