WOW what a freakin project! I'm one sore and worn out dude.

Anyway, the only things that remain hooked up are the two side motor mounts and the CV joints/Half shafts. It looks as if Jeff was right and the motor AND transmission will not be able to be hoisted out the top together. My plan is now to take the tranny loose and remove it from the bottom then hoist the motor out the top with the shop crane. Its a few more steps, but I know it will work this way. Sinewave will be here tomorrow morning, Saturday, at 7:30am and we'll start kicking ars!

There are some more pics here... http://www.geocities.com/mardigrasma...ap_day_one.htm

Jeff, Will I need a clutch alignment tool to put the transmission back in? The new transmission is still bolted to the old motor so I dont think the clutch disc has moved. What do you think?

I'm not Jeff, but you won't have to use a clutch alignment tool.

Good luck with the install!

Unfortunately, Ive done the same thing 4 times with the GLH But, the bright side is that it takes me less than an hour to get the whole mess out now since Ive unfortunately been given so much practice

If the clutch on the new engine is nott being distrubed then probably not. But it's always a good idea to have one. Funny thing is that a broom handle is just about the perfect size for Nissan input shaft sizes. You might want to consider putting a new throw out bearing in just for good measure. If the clutch/disk is over 1/2 worn, a new set should be put in.
