I just bought a radar detector, and was about to try it on when my cig lighter stop working. When I take the lighter out, there was nothing inside, did I lose my cig lighter somehow? this guy at a garage told me to check the fuse, where is the fuse and wat does he mean by check?

 

Fuses are devices which limit the current going to a particular system or accessory. When a certain load is exceeded, the fuse will "break" (i.e. the metal connection will melt, or break), cutting off the circuit. The fuse box is located near the hood release switch on the left area of the dashboard. The owners manual tells which fuse is for which circuit. You can start off from there.
