In my quest to get 200FWHP and stay NA I can't help but wonder, what if I remove my AC pulley? I never ever use my AC. So has anyone done this before? I whould think the gains whould be as good or better then using a UDP? I am putting a UDP on soon so maybe I could do this at the same time? What do you guys think? Good or bad..etc.

i dont have any info to give you on hp gains, ect, but you shouldnt have to take off the pulley, just take off the belt...right? unless its connected in the serpentine belt, then your SOL anyways

what i wanted to do was the duplicate the underdrive pulley (the stock one) in a lightened aluminum but keeping the same radius.

why?

the UR UDP can only be used for NA cars and yes you can feel the difference for power steering and alternator.... BUT for a boosted max, smaller UDP means less boost.. so . by lightening the stock underdrive pulley would be tight!

also. if i want 200 fwp,

try swapping the throttle body to a Q45... i think the Q has a larger bore.. right?
idunno.. ... PORT n POLISH!

I don't think removing the AC will do much. The only time it's really sucking out hp is when the condencer clutch is engaged. When I add my belts off to install the UDP, I spun the AC pulley and the thing spun VERY easily. Hope this helps.

In your quest for more power, make sure to get rid of those chrome wheels in favor for something lighter and smaller.

AC is a free running clutch. When it isnt on, it isnt sucking up any power. The only gains youll get is removing the whole AC system losing that extra weight. This wont add power but will make your car faster.
