How'd they do in dry, wet, snowy conditions?

I just bought some 16" wheels for my wife's 91GXE and will be putting on some 225/55 tires on them in the next few months. They have to be all seasons, around $100 each, and should be decent in the rain and snow (don't worry, I don't expect snow-tire performance).

I have Dunlop SP5000's on my '95 now and they do really well, I'd just like to try something different.

Any other tires I should consider?

I'm betting you will come back to the SP5000's though. They seem to be a great all around tire.

Out of curiosity, why 225/55s instead of 225/50s?

 

The Yokos are SHAT in wet... DO NOT GET THEM IF YOU LIKE DRIFTING UNINTENTIALLY..

dry smooth pavement? They are one of the best.

the tread design is slightly outdated, but the grip is still there. Tread life is rated at 120 .. i think. and i have gone through 2 complete sets (8)

for the money, they're one of the best tires around.. pitty they crap out so soon.

The first 6 k miles, its wonderful. after that.. traction becomes a problem...

it's a very LOUD tire. if you hate tire noise, forget it.
Low tread wear like Cheston said.

Try SP8000 or SP9000.
A step up and you know dunlop is good.
My last set of SP9000 lasted almost 25K. Pretty good.
tread wear rate of 280.

My new tires (on a slight budget) is the bridgestone RE730.
good tire for the money.

My ultimate tire is SO2 bridgestones.
But they only lasted 7K miles!!!!!!!!
Tread wear was 120!

A good all around riding, performance, noise-less, long lasting tire is michellins. Draw back is cost.

try RE730's.

 

I have the avs sport and would suggest it. It's a great tire in both wet and dry.
