has anyone did a r12 to r134a conversion before?

Since my condenser was caved in due to a accident I am planning to convert from r12 to r134a. So far my plan is to replace the dryier, condenser and remove the compressor to flush it out with polyalpha oil(new type of compressor fluid that is compatible with r12 and r13a). Also whatever parts of the system I open up like the condenser, drier, and compressor I'll replace the o-rings(luburicated with o-ring lube). I don't have the tools to flush out the system or blow lauquer thinner in it...but to some experts on ac on another board I am in good shape. Has anyone did this conversion on their 3gen Maxima? I am doing this on a 92 Maxima GXE...also can anyone provide me tips on how to remove the compressor and find the fill and drain plug for it???
Its really no sweat although I have not changed over a 3rd gen max from 12 to 134 i have done it to my 86 max. I would suggest you change all of your o-rings vaccum down the whole system below sea level for 30 mins to an hour to make sure that no residual freon is left in the system;then lock down the gauges andwatch them for about 10 mins to see if they creep up any if not then you r ready to go;but I strongly advise you to get a professional to charge up you system. One other thing there is no need to drain your compressor if your ac was already working before your condenser got bent. The local auto parts store has this can called estercool conversion oil that you put put in along withthe new 134a it comes in a can similar to the can of 134.
