My car got stuck in Reverse! Wouldn't even budge with clutch in! HELP!
Alright, everything has worked fine in my car, but tonight I pull out of my driveway and in the middle of the street with the stick in reverse. I push the clutch in and proceed to put it in first, when suddenly the stick locks up and won't leave reverse. I turn the car on and off, push in and out on the clutch, push the stick as hard as I can, and still, it wouldnt move. So I yell for my dad and he gets in the car and holds the clutch. As I push him off the street, he finally yanks it out of reverse, and the car is perfectly fine. What happened? Should I still have it checked out? Thanks
Easy does it

Your symptoms suggest that the Reverse detent mechanism jammed. This might be a one-time only experience. Drive the car normally but when you need to engage Reverse, don't rush the shift. Easy does it.
