To start, I would just like to say that I am new to the forum, and really like the site. I don't own a max yet but hope to in the near future. I have been a technician at a local (Cincinnati) nissan dealer for just over two years. The question I have is about wheel and tire combos. What backspacing should be used with a 17 wheel? Also, what size tires? Thank you all in advance. Pictures could be helpful as well, thanks.

I don't know what you mean by "backspacing" but...

I have 17x8 Konig Caffeines Wrapped in NanKang 225/45/17 Sport Tires. The offset it 40mm. Anywhere b/t 35-42mm's and you should be fine.

Go with the 8-inch wide tire. Since you will be running a lower profile tire, it won't seem much wider than your stockers (since they are fatter).

Anyways I hope I helped you out, and if you do indeed get a Maxima it won't disappoint you.

I agree with Craig. I've got 17x8" Momo's with a 40mm offset. You can check out a few of the other members' wheel/tire combos here:

Thank you for the replies, also where can I buy headers for a 4th gen max. I have only seen one person on here with them, are they custom.or just really expensive? A company name or web addy would be of great help.

emax95 I think is his name. He got them from a company in New Zealand. You may have to drop him a pm or email. I think he paid $600 for the set.

I wouldn't buy them though, you will be extremely shocked when you find out the [sarcastic Voice]"Gains"[/Sarcastic Voice]you get, something in the range of 1 to 2hp
