recommended brake fluid???
Anyone know what is the best brake fluid to use for the max? Dot 3 or Dot 4 and any particular brand is better? Or that we must use OEM Nissan Brake fluid.. cuz I dont feel like going all the way to the dealer parts to pick up some... I rather just buy it from Pep Boys.. Thanks!
BTW... I thought I might need some cuz my brake light has been coming on in the mornings when I start my car.. and stays on for a good 5-10 mins before it goes away.

Early warning

A low fluid level may be an early warning that your brake pads are nearing end-of-life or there is a brake fluid leak. Investigate.
I've heard many people recommend Ford DOT3 high performance brake fluid. It should be about $5-$7 a bottle and it's supposed to be as good as Motul. It ought to be good if it can stop those heavy, high-powered Mustangs.
I use the Ford high-perf/HD fluid. Its still DOT-3, but its dry boiling point is about 100 C higher than regular DOT 3 fluid, right up there with Motul and other DOT 4 fluids. It's wet boiling point is where the DOT 4 fluids have the advantage. But with new fluid, you really don't have to worry about wet boiling point, because the fluid is new and won't be saturated with water. After a long time though, the DOT-4 would have more resistance to boiling, but while the fluid is still relatively new, the difference is minimal, if present at all.
Re: I might install my SS lines and wilwoods this friday
heh heh heh ...
I've revived this thread ... does n e 1 have an answer? How much do I need? I think I'm going with Tony's recommendation of Valvoline SynPower.
Ciao!

you'll need about 3-4 pints
As far as I noticed, it doesn't really matter so much what kind of brand you use. I think as long as its heavy duty or super heavy duty DOT 3, you'll be happy. I tried the Ford Motorcraft DOT3 which is suppose to be comparable to the Motul 600 (?) and it was fine. I also tried some fluid from Autozone that was 1/4 the price. Both have really high boiling points for DOT3.
