Would work ok? Ok for what?

You don't need that switch, so you are free to consider eliminating it.

Sorry --what i mean is that im going to install some neon lights under the dash and im looking for a switch to turn them on and off that wont look stupid on the dash. I have an extra cruise control switch laying around and im wondering if i could possibly use that.

Yes, but it might not be the best choice. The cruise control switch is not an ordinary on/off switch. It has an off position, an on position, and a momentary on position. Figure out how you are going to wire the switch before making a firm decision.
