getting my car's exterior detailed and they want to wetsand the exterior to see if any of the scratches will come out this way. The car's exterior was detailed once before and they took of half the pinstripe. So is wetsanding good or bad?

If I were you I'd find another shop to do your car. I've been detailing cars for many years and have NEVER wet sanded a car before. Check out the link above and do some research. There are coares cut and fine cut cleaners that take scratches out. Wet sanding should only be done to raw paint, only immediately after application in order to get rid of orange peal or dirt. We have clear coat paint of our cars. If you sand through it, your done.
