Sorry about the dumb question, it's probably no. But a guy at a local shop said that it does, not sure what year max he was talking about though. He knows his stuff about import cars, but I'm not really sure if I believe him. Thanks

It's already there.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but the VQ30 I think is a heavily evolutionized version of what was in the last Z car. The 300ZX in non-turbo form "only" had 200hp peak. 222 in the latest VQ Maxima is better. Perhaps your question should resemble "Will the 300ZX twin turbo set up and its respective plumbing fit in a Maxima engine bay?"

Yeah that would be a better way to put it. Hopefully it would. That would be nice. Yes I agree that the 222 in our engine (VQ) is prob. better than the 200 in the VG that the Z had. I know I'm gonna get some kind of response about this question that's like "why would you want to do that if there's already a supercharger out there for our engine when that works "well." But different is good. I'm not saying I'd do this, it's just an interesting thought. Ok I'm tired and rambling. Time to sleep....zzz...

Re: Re: It's already there.

The vg30 motor in the last gen Z had 222hp also. It's almost the same engine, but having external belt driven cams (way different heads), and a different intake manifold with dual throttle bodies. I'd think that a transplant wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility, but a real B_tch! I was thinking the other day about an entire vg30t + all of the drivetrain to the rear wheels (just a day dream though)...

the Z32 came with a VG30DE in NA form and a VG30DETT (twin turbo).... considering that the Z was rear-wheel drive, it would be complicated to swap engines...
