Thinking about sprints but with a 1.7" drop, are camber plates needed?

with a drop of around 1.5" you are probably ok without camber plates. As you go to 2" though, you should get them or your wheels will look like this:

Nope, you don't need them with those drops.

Quick question:

I just lowered my maxima with the Eibach Pro-kit/Tokico Struts setup; how important is an alignment?

Thanks.

You should have it checked/fixed whenever you get a chance.

Do what I suggest, but don't follow what I do because I still haven't gotten an alignment yet.

Hmm... So you guys are saying that after up to 2" drop one does NOT need a camber kit? Or is there some sarcasm going on which I fail to comprehend?

if you drop it 2" or more, you should consider camber plates..... anything less than that, you will probably be fine without them

The keyword "probably" makes me uneasy. Can you install the camber kit without taking apart the strut/spring combo?

I don't want to install lowering springs, put everything back together and then re-open everything just for one stupid bolt!

What is this Camber Bolt/Kit thing? I know what it does, but what is it?

well, with the drop that eibachs give you, you won't need any camber adjustment. The negative camber won't be too much....

There is no 100% drop rule for camber plate. You will need camber plates if after your car is lowered, it's beyond the adjustable limits for simple camber bolts. Period, end of discussion.

I had to get camber bolts.

I have the Sprint/Tokico combo and I was getting horrible wear on the inner edge of my front tires. They put the camber bolts in and so far I haven't noticed any inner edge wear as of yet. The print-out they gave me was much better after the camber bolts were installed. Cost me $33 a side plus the cost of the alignment.

Got my Eibach springs on for about 4 months, no noticable wear on the front or rear tires...just had the alignment done...
