I know my 95 GLE has tilt wheel but does it telescope too? Saw a 96 GXE that had it. Just wondering. Thanks

 

95 GLE wheel doesn't telescope. I didn't think any of the max's did, so I'm surprised you saw a 96 GXE do it. Are you sure? Was it modded?

Was looking at Max's at the CarMax website. Saw the 96 and tilt/telescope was listed as one of the options. Didn't really think it was offered on the Max.

 

What do you guys mean by telescope? My max just tilts.

it's not available stock, my gf's q45 has it....but it's really not that practical.

 

Carmax and other sellers don't know much about any particular car, they just assume things or are type-o's. All the Maxima's have tilt steering wheels that barely move up or down. I wish they will be able to move further up to ease entry and also *cross fingers* add the telescope feature. Telescope is when the wheel moves closer and/or further away from you, not up and down like tilt. The old classic 57 Thunderbird has a steering wheel that moved sideways also called telescoping.
