I have horrible squeals coming from the front. The symptom appeared after I got new pads and rotors from Midas. I'm about to take apart the pads, clean rotors with brake cleaner and put the pads back on using the paste.
Do you think that will get rid of the squeal?

For me, it only worked 1/2 the time at first, then later it was fine. Now it squeels in a high pitch, but not loud. I hear that the real cure is to get all the dealer parts and put them in. Theres shims of some kind. Look in the Chiltons manual, its in there.

I just called Nissan in Vegas and they can order OEM shims. I think I will try that as I know the rayesbestos shims suck. They where 38 bucks for the front pair. Kinda pricy and costs more than the pads I bought. You guys think spending the extra money on OEM shims will make a difference?

I reccomend that you do it. Get the Nissan parts, you wont be sorry. All I've heard about squeaking breaks, this is the only thing that really works.
