my baby is growing old... =/ but she's still got some pep left in her hehe Got her with something around 170k 2 years ago... ~25k miles in 2 years... and I dont go anywhere =P Anything I should do when I hit 200k? I got all the belts replaced when I got the car, change oil/filter every 3k, bought a K&N drop-in a little while ago, got 1/2-1 year old tires on her, fluids checked, new muffler, year old exhaust pipe from the cat back, new alternator... anything practical I should have done to the car in the near future? maybe I'll buy a new front grille.. since I cracked the one that's on there now hehe

Your Max will run for another 100k at least if you take good care of it- I don't know if you saw the high mileage contest we had a few months ago but the winner had 378,000 on his Max- and several had more than 250k. Mine is right at 192k and is still the most awesome car I have ever owned. One thing- did you change the timing belt at 180k? That might be the only thing I would recommend doing if you haven't done it already. Change the timing belt, water pump, timing belt tensioner, and thermostat- budget about 8 hours to do it if you have never done it before. Other than that- roll.

I got the timing belt changed when I got the car at ~169k because it looked ready to be changed... dont know about the water pump, tensioner & thermostat... but I'll look into it. Can anyone give me a carfax acct to check up on my car with? I dont think the previous owners (Navy guy, and before him a Japanese-American) worked on the car themselves... Also, I donno if the fuel injector recall has been done on my car or not. another reason to look it up on carfax

how much do those parts cost? the tensioner, etc....

I can't really remember how much I paid for the tensioner and thermostat, but I remember them being cheap- probably less than fifty for both. Bypass the dealership and get a good aftermarket deal. By the way, lots of times when the timing belt gets changed, they go ahead and change the tensioner- ask your mechanic if he did that.
