So tonight my alternator has decided to die. I would like to replace this ASAP. My friend has a Third Gen Maxima, I have a 4th Gen. His Maxima is just sitting. Are the alternators interchangeable between the to generations? If so I can just rip his off and put it on my car and I'll be all set. Does anyone know if this will work? I know nothing about Third Gens. Hey Bill, maybe you know! Stupid Minima's.

Nope no system. I was just driving along the MA pike and everything started to go dim. Then I pulled over on the 84 exit and the car just stopped. I got a jump, and the battery took the charge so it must be the alternator.

Not sure. Find out what Nissan's part number is for the third gen alternator. If it's the same part number as the 4th gen, they are probably interchangable.
