Get rid of the Maxima!?!

"Could Maxima become one of those extraneous pieces of the Nissan Revival Plan that Carlos Ghosn alluded to when he said no cows were sacred? Difficult as it may be to fathom Nissan without Maxima, it looks as if the company is planning to travel that road."

http://autonet.ca/autonetStories/Sto...m?storyID=2584

honestly, the thought of that disgusts me. i hope it isnt so.

well, nick has been through a lot in the past two weeks, but i did notice that. anyway, ghosn better not get rid of the maxima. it's a good car but i can see what they are saying about the 3 series BMW's. I'm selling mine for an M3 because frankly it's a better car for the money. a used M3 or a New maxima will be around the same, but the beamer is faster and handles way better.

Make sure it's 6-speed.. the autos are okay too though
Good choice, they're beasts and definately more roomier then an M3. Love those interiors

but it's gonna be bigger than that. the new altima, which is the g20 twin is now bigger than the maxima, see where this is going.

Man, you guys are lame. A used BMW compared to a new Maxima? When that BMW starts to break down, it will get real expensive and you will definately be missing that new Maxima. Plus consider that insurance for the M3. I love my Maxima. If you want such a perfect performance car, save up and in a few years, buy your supercar new. Maxima rules!

The insurance on a new maxima is within a couple hundred a year of a used M3, and when you are gonna be paying almost 3K for insurance that's not much. I'm also going to purchase a full extended warranty, 3years/50K miles for like 1500bucks. Covers everything but brake pads, rotors and shocks basically.

My next car will either be the R-35 GTR (if available) or some other sports car, or a GS430, 540, E430 type car. Maybe Infiniti will have its competitor in place by then.

"That means it will either toil away in relative obscurity for a couple of years, or it will be temporarily retired to await resurrection when Nissan again needs a saviour." (Auto.Net)

I like that last line, Maximas are saviours.
