I'm in a dilemna rite now. I have to choose one car. First car is a 1997 Altima (with 50k, GXE) and the second is a 1995 Maxima (with 60k, GXE). The '97 Altima has power everything except for the seats, no sunroof, stock rims, no CD, color is Tan. The maxima is emerald greed, sunroof, power everything except for seats, rear spoiler, stock rims, no CD player.Which one would u pick and why? Someone help me, please!

now my question to u is do u want to kick *** or get *** kicked? maybe in the future u can pick the altima because they will have v6 but for now the max will be the better choice. max will last longer than alt if u treat it right.

The Maxima is the obvious answer. I'm a sucker for sunroof's, so that would make it for me right there, plus the Max is a better platform to build on. Mileage difference shouldn't be a big deal; you can put a lot of miles on a Max. Finally, the Maxima crowd is a cooler bunch.

Both, Maxima and Altima are good cars. I own a 97 Maxima and 97 Altima (my mom drives it now). Altima has a tough engine, 4 cylinder, 150hp. I had fun driving it, but it was small for me, so I decided to buy Maxima. I have absolutely no problems with these cars, but if I had to chose between Altima or Maxima right now I would go for Maxima.

I have both in my driveway right now. Well, the Altima is an SE and the Maxima is a GLE. I would pick the Maxima everytime, and twice if it was a stick. More power, more room, more refinement, and better handling. I had the opportunity to choose (the Altima is my little brother's) and I picked the Max even though it had twice the miles. That just goes to show you how strongly I feel about it.

Maxima... unless you want to turbo the Altima and make it as fast as one.

Both are nice cars. -both are reliable -both handle well

One of my max's has 100K+.
Still runs better than new -in fact faster.-no mods.
The Altima - gets better gas mileage and is nimble.
Get a FSTB and Rear sway bar and the Max will handle better than a Altima or a civic or better.
Upgrade the wheels for some stick some day and you've got a MACHINE!
Forget Straight Line performance- The max smokes most other cars.- And is still within 5 MPG of a Altima.
If you're gona have it for a while get the MAX.
You should try it.
