95-96 SE 15" = same style

97-99 SE 16" = same style

Some members have stated that the finish can be different. The SE-L has a titanium color to the SE wheels.

nope - 96 are 15" , 7-spoke (sawtooth) and the

97-99 used a 16" 5-spoke star design

The finish is smoother on the newer wheels.

I'm still confused as to why I've seen Maxis with the 97+ front/rear ends, and the 7-spoke rims found on the 95-96 SEs. Did the 97+ GLEs "inherit" these wheels from the 95-96 SEs? I saw another such car just the other day...

Luckily when I bought my Max, it was a 95 that came with the 5 spokes....i dont know how...the woman that owned it was 40 something and didn't mod a thing on the car, but it had the 16' wheels that were not supposed to come on the car...oh well, I'm not complaining.

Actually this isnt true. I have a 97 and I have a smooth clear coat finish on my wheels, where as a friend and my aunt who both have 98's have the non finished wheels.

Yeah it went something like that. The 97 GLEs got the leftover 95-95 SE wheels.

eric is correct. From my understanding, the 97 models had clearcoat finishes while the 98s did not. I *think*, but haven't confirmed, that the 99 models went back with the clearcoat finish.
