Detailing chips out of hood... possible?

Well my car is black, and it has a million chips all over the front bumper/hood. But since I hit that deer they're giving me a new front bumper+paint but wont paint the hood (no damage) So now my whole car looks brand new except for my hood but I can't afford to paint it. Is there a nice product that can hide all those white dots? How's that turtle wax color cure stuff? thx

nine7... i went through the same thing recently... i too have a black max (shows every **** spot)... after driving a winter on back roads following log trucks etc. and hitting 2 deer (no physical hood damage), well, let's just say my hood wasn't pretty... i tried EVERYTHING... black is TOUGH (as you know)... i tried that turtlewax color wax, touchup paint (directly from nissan), and a bunch of other products friends recommended... all i can say is it was no luck whatsoever... they all just provided what i would call a "temporary fix".. I'm not trying to sound like a pessimist, but to my liking there was nothing out there to "take away" the chips and spots... anyways, it bothered me sooo much that i actually did end up having the hood repainted... I would be interested to hear if you come up w/ anything that DOES really work for you as... especially, as the winter is coming again...

Shoulda wacked your hood with a sledge hammer after the deer hit it, that'd get you a free paint job.
