Will SE struts bolt up to a car that started life as a GXE? I went to the dealer to ask them about getting SE struts and the parts shop guy said that they might possibly not bolt up to the upper mounts or lower knucke assembly -- I was surprised since I though all the mounting hardware would be universal...

They will bolt right on, but they arent worth the money. There are several aftermarket alternatives that both work better and cost less.


BTW, get a new dealer, the one you went to is apparently staffed by idiots.

I have a whole SE suspension on my 97 GXE. It fit perfectly and handles a lot better than the GXE.

I paid $60 shipped for shocks/struts/springs offa 97 SE with 13k miles on it.
