Coilovers Vs. Shocks

I was wondering what, if any difference there was between adjustable coilovers, and adjustable shocks. What are some good coilovers beside the ground control, because I really don't have 400 bucks at the moment. Also, what are some good brands for adjustable shocks. Thanks,
Brandon

Coilovers are adjustable height springs, these are usually paired with adjustable shocks

the term coilover has grown to be synonymous with adjustable coilovers. The two are different. Your rear spring/shock setup is a coilover setup; the difference is that on an adjustable coilover the spring perches can be raised or lowered (hence the term adjustable).

This is what a true adjustabole coilover looks like. The threads for the spring perch are ON the shock body itself. Ground Control makes sleeves with the threads on them; the sleeve slides over the shock.

Did I explain it well enough?
