Burried speedomiter...

I burried my speedomiter needle past 140 mph on saturday. That was fun but the bumps scared the crap out of me...GLE bouncing off bumps at 140+...that was a blast. Has anyone else ever burried your speedo? I know GXE's are limited at 120, but are GLE's limited at all? Mine didnt feel like it was.

Ya, but you felt how fast it accelerated. I don't have much use to go that fast, but getting up to speed is a different story.

Get the mods I have on my car on yours, then you will know the true meaning of acceleration

I don't want a cai, and the rt cat doesn't give any gains does it?

I got my GXE up to 128mph between Wyoming and Fort Collins. It was not very scary, but I flew by a highway patrol when I was slowing down at about 115mph. He was just sitting on the exit and dint even chase me. He must have been napping.

well i remember when i had my VeeDub that i was on my way to talli in fl. and i was goin about 115 just chillin on my way to see my grl in fsu when going the other way a state trooper turns on his lights turns around and starts heading after me.... luckily i had just passed these like 3 trucks and while one was passing another the damm cop was caught behind themm... so i step on it and get off on the next exit which was like almost 8 miles ahead
next thing i know im on some interstate road, which really wasent a road it was more like a dirt track... i went looking at the sun making sure i was going the same was as the highway and like 45 min later i found a major crossing and i got back on the freeway... oh baby what a rush... it was great

Hey now...Play nice...we do like people that use streams of consiousness...they are usually more fun to read...although a little distracting...but overall it is more fun in general. It is fun to run from the cops if you know that you will get away...otherwise I would never do that...but then again i know most of the cops in my home town and they would not even chase me if given proper knowledge of who I am...and yes the RT cat does give some power...and why dont you want the CAI? They give more power than reg. intakes.

My GXE doesn't have a limiter anymore. Trust me, there are no GXE owners who are envious of GLEs for any reason whatsoever.

above 140

I more than burried my speedomiter, I was about 5mph beyond 140. I figured the car was going about 145mph, that was with only POP charger. Since than I got a y-pipe, cat, and a cat-back. I am hopping to get my friends car in front of me because his speedomiter goes up to 150. Than I will see how fast my max will go.

VIN # says its a GLE bruh. Im going with the VIN.

I know the GLE's are the slowest because they have the most sound deadening in them. I also know that no one is envious of them, I didnt mean to imply that. I know Canuck personaly and was just busting his *****. I was not going down hill the whole time. There were straightaways where I also more than burried the speedo, Im guessing around 143-145 mph. So far, only 2 of us have burried it?

How can you not know if you have a GXE or GLE?
On your website you say GXE. Does your car have leather?

He doesn't have leather, so we think that it was a special order car.

Sometimes the cops let you go like that because of safety. Sometimes it is better to let you go than scare you when the lights come on make you panic and take out other people with you.

I know it seems like a stupid question, but with the combination of options I have its truely troublesome. No leather, bose system, moonroof, hubcaps, VIN # INDICATES ITS A GLE, no limiter on speed(obviously) and its auto. You try ti figure it out, cuz I cant.

Maybe it was a GLE that had the seats and wheels replaced?

Thats what we were thinking...like it was custom ordered...with out the wheels, no leather and no climate control.

Mine is limited and its US se equivelent.

has body coloured door handles, spoiler, spottys, alloy wheels etc.

Speed limiter is at about 200 I guess and when you get there, It cuts fuel till it gets back to 170.

Kirk

Do you have:
fake wood trim?
fuzzy A-pillar trim?
pop-out drawer?
climate control?
leather trim steering wheel and shifter?

If you have these, you should have a GLE...but your car still seems really confusing.

He he he... I'm sorry Kirk I won't bust on you anymore. But really I have heard of special factory ordered cars that way. A person wants certain options but not others... I would call it a GLE when you go to sell it though...

if you have the security and convience package with only comes in AUTO's then you have no limiter

i think your max is 5spd so you are screwed
