Smile Before & After Shots of my Max (1 1/2 Years Later)

It's been a year and a half since I purchased my 97 Neptune Blue GXE, my first car. I picked it up with 88k on the clock and other than the exhaust system being rusted to hell it has been good to me. I'm 99% satisfied with how it sits today, the major mods I wanted were 1) Leather interior 2) Suspension 3) Wheels. The only things I might pursue would be some fogs or an improved system... but neither are really necessary right now.

BEFORE/STOCK SHOTS:

AFTER SHOTS:

MODS:
Exhaust
- Warpspeed Y-Pipe and Cat
- Budget B-Pipe
- Magnaflow Muffler
- Cattman Resonator

Wheels/Suspension
- Murano Wheels w/ Toyo Proxes
- Progress Springs w/ Illuminas

Exterior
- Smoked Red/Clears
- Smoked Bumper Lights
- CE Black Housing Headlights and Corners
- M3 Trunk Lip

Misc/Interior

And some minor mods I realized I need to address: paint gold key hole/antenna and possibly paint the chrome grille

Insanely creative humor^. Heh, but I'm open to jokes/criticism its all good. The story behind the magnaflow is that 1) my oem muffler was rusted like crazy and on its way out and 2) the 5th muffler I supplied couldn't be mounted without cutting into the bumper or sitting two inches from the road. So my exhaust guy offered to sell me a Magnaflow muffler.

I love everything but the murano rims. I am not a fan of them plus they are heavier. I think some gun metal or darker rims would look amazing. Besides that looks great.

Not really feeling the chrome grille or the muranos but much better than stock. And is that a stock i30 rear leather seat? Nice progress.

Yep, the Muranos aren't for everyone. Seems like a love/hate type thing. But I got a deal of a price on them, and they're a good set of beaters on a 1st ride. I thought about switching out rims (and gunmetal rims sounds great) but new tires+wheels don't really fit into a college budget. Oh and yes, the rear seat is a stock I30 seat.

Looks really clean man. The paint looks so shiny. The Murano wheels look good on your car.

Yeah I love it. I'm going to tint my tails too...are those just the clear part tinted or the red too? Also, after seeing your car I've decided to shave M_A_X_I_M_A off my trunk and just keep the Nissan hamburger logo

I'd also recommend finding a neptune blue-colored grill if you could find one.. would look better than the chrome IMO. Or you could spray paint it like I did.. (though my Max is black; finding your color might be harder lol)

Yea, both the red and clear areas are tinted. The thing about these pics is they really couldn't capture the tint well, in the second rear end pic they almost looksas if they are plain red/clears. But in person they appear a little darker than the first rear view.

And yea painting the grille is on the list of things to do eventually, probably just take it to a paint shop and get it done.

ZachsMax, the tinted tails were actually bought off of eBay so they weren't painted/tinted myself. Have you thought about Bluebatmobile's tint overlays tho? Oh and konak, the bumper lights were also the smoked ones off eBay/not painted. Fog lights are on the list of things to purchase somewhere down the road.

Just keep an eye on craigslist.org. I'm in college too and didn't think I could afford to get rims, but I just found a nice set of 2001 Maxima Alloys for $120 on CL..

Yeah, but I was under the impression that they aren't all that permanent.. like if you rub up against them (depending on what they're made of), they might get scratched or start peeling.. what are they-- vinyl?

Good looking maxima. I love that m3 lip wing. I had mine fiberglassed to the trunk so it looked like a one piece lip wing. I think i was the only one to do that.

Yeah, yesterday i shaved off the M_A_X_I_M_A and left the hamburger logo.. i want to rep Nissan but would rather people wonder what model it is.. since most non-Maxima owners don't respect the Maxima's real power anyway, id like to surprise them after they ride in it and ask what it is. Lol

Good catch but I'm not one to lie... I never mentioned I tinted them myself and I clarified that.
