you need to buy this wiring harness adapter kit from scosche,this harness can be purchased at most autozone part stores and some walmart stores.

just follow the diagram that comes with the kit..

you can't trust color codes.
but I know that I have posted the wiring diagrams numerous times.

 

you are right must take another approach and possibly trace back the amp power
