Yay. New Wheels.

I got a set of 16"x7" BBS RX's locally for $100.

Here is a quick photoshop:

This wheel is in the worst condition with just minor scratching around the outer edge. But won't even be noticeable with the tire on.

Let me know what you all think?!...

Nice buy!!

throw some 225/50/16 tires on there and you're good to go!

look at the numbers cast around the rim. I can't read them, but it should be stamped there somewhere.

Will those work best? Tirerack suggests 215/55/16 but I would like to go as low as profile as possible.

And apparently the 225/50/16 is a more performance oriented tire. Where Can I go to check? Also... the lug hole is very recessed, will I need some special long/cone lug nuts for this wheel?

Thanks

225/50/16 is perfect. you also have a good selection of tires. Anything from grandma tires to race slicks. 215/55/16 is the same overall diameter, but you get a bit of extra tire width and more performance with the 225.

Does anyone know if the offset from a 1993 300zx wheel is the same as a 1993 Maxima SE's offset? I bought a set and thought they would work, but I don't know. I haven't put them on yet. Because the wife doesn't know.

Center bore should be 66.1 - not 60.1

Nice BBS wheels!

Yeah, but I'm thinking the photoshopped one's are the "BBS RX II" they had a weird disattached outer lip.

But that's okay because the type II's were defective and the clearcoat would always peel really bad.

Nice rims.

I remember when I had my first 3rd gen back in the old days, I really wanted those style BBS rims, but I couldn't afford them.

Keep looking, n00b. best way to find them is to keep your eyes open and jump on a deal when it happens.

(Usually I just give up and pay full price. )

watch the classifieds here and other random forums and ebay and such.
usually I can buy wheels w/ decent tires for about the same price of buying just new tires..
do that a few times and you wind up with a dozen sets of wheels in the garage.
