Oil leak behind passenger tire

No, my tire is not leaking oil, but the engine is(92-24 valve). I can not get under the car to see where it is coming from, but it is dripping onto the lower A arm. Looks to be from the front of the engine.
Any of you guys run into the before?
Should I attempt a repair, or start looking for a new Maxima?
Thanks in advance.

95% of the time it's a leaking front main seal.. very common on ANY car over a few years and high miles... the problem is the seals are rubber (to seal correctly), and they just dry up and get hard over the years and begin to leak.

a new seal is about $5 from a dealer.. the fun is in GETTING to the seal. you'll have to remove all your drive belts and your crank pulley. the crank pulley is NOT a fun thing to pull off without the correct tools.

But other than that, it's a minor problem.. you don't even really HAVE to fix it.. just make sure you check your oil level on a regular basis, and you'll be fine.

also keep in mind the oil filter is around that area. so make sure the filter is on tight....making sure it's correct size and sealing ring is good idea also.
the other thing u should check is your oil psi sensor. they have a tendency to leak sometimes. it's close to the filter...w/ 1 wire connected to it.
