retro time out/on lights

so on a lot of cars when you unlock it the driving lights turn on (corners/fogs)

On our cars its the interior light. I was wondering if anyone knew the wiring for getting the corners/fogs to turn on when you unlock it.

That would be in the computer. You cant wire them up together, theyre not the same light. I dont think its possible.

oh it's possible I'm sure .... anything is possible. One solution may be to run a jumper (use a relay!) from the dope light to the markers or whatever you wanna light up. If you wire it right ... it should work. I don't know of any other member doin this ... but seems cool. PM me if I can help at all - as far as using the relay that is.

Cheers!

yeah Ive thought of the jumper, but I want the dome light and corners/fogs seperate... I was thinking if I can find the wire that triggers the dome from the alarm system, and just re-route it to the corners/fogs it should work perfect.. anyone know where that wire is?

so ... i'm confused, you DON'T want the dome light to go on when the key unlocks the door? but you DO want the markers to go on?

I don't know how you would do this ... but if you want the markers to come on when you unlock / lock the car ... that is simple enough, but to get them to remain lit up ... may take a capacitor to make that work.

In my 3rd gen the light dimmed out after closing the door and all ... I miss that in my 4th gen, and if I really wanted to, I could add a cap to it to make it do that .... just at this time I don't really care "that" much

My cars the same way but with all the street lights around i dont have a need for the outside lights to go on. I have thought about hooking up my headlights to the alarm so that when it goes offthey flash. I was also going to look for the wire that poweres my parking lights (which flash on alarm) and hooking up my head lights to them. So good luck I think its possible when I get done ill get back to you

JTZMax: what I mean is that I dont want my corners to pop on if I throw the switch for my dome lights.

There should be a wire (and this is what I need to find) that runs from the alarm system up to the dome to switch it on. What I want to do is tap that, connect a relay and hook it up so the corners OR fogs come on instead or both. I part on a Dark hill, Id love to see more than a Faint light when I unlock my car
