New TPS possibly bad?

About a week ago I put in a new TPS, 2 days later had a stranger problem start up. Once in a while, while driving it will shift through all gears at about 2000 RPM all at once, getting into 4th at about 30 MPH. Then, when driving it won't go past about 2000 RPM.. almost like the rev limiter is kicking in.. car shudders, rpm's bounce up and down and then it looses power.. A few times, it will get so bad that there is nothing you can do to resume speed or accelerate.. Forcing me to pull over, shut it off and re-start it. Ususally that will fix it short term. I replaced the MAF thinking that was the culprit as I had literally replaced everything else, problem is still there. I did some diagnostics and found code 43 (TPS) and proceeded to test the TPS. All tests pass except when checking the resistance while moving the throttle. Starts out good at 1000 Ohm at closed, goes up steadily to 9000 Ohm at WOT but there is a spot at about 30% where the Ohm reading goes to Over Limit.. It consistently tests that way every time you open the throttle. I assume this isn't supposed to be, shouldn't it be a steady rise in resistance from min to max with no breaks in there? Hope what I have said makes sense lol.. Thanks. Oh, I have also checked all connectors and continuity between the ECU and sensor.

What is the correct way to set the TPS? I was informed on here before to set it to 1000 Ohms with throttle closed and check for about 9000 Ohms at WOT, but the one on autozone shows setting it based upon the closed position switch registering at 1000 RPM. Both ok, or is the later the only correct way to go?

what does RPM have to do with the closed TPS in autozone's instruction? Aaare you sure you didn't mean Ohms the second time as well?

Fixed... apparently purchasing a "new" TPS doesn't mean it will work more than 20 minutes, got a replacement and it's good to go now.. All weird problems with trans, idle, surging etc are gone. FYI researched, found the proper way to set it on a VG is to move it till you get 1000 Ohms at closed, which will be approximately 9000 Ohms at WOT. The other references are for setting it on a VE.
