Boo, trunk rack! Should've gone with a roof rack.

I had a trunk rack until it scratched the F out of my spoiler...it was a stupid Walmart cheapie rack though.

haha nice, is that a GT bike? I see the triple triangle design.

A roof rack would have been nice too, but after 4 hour rides on technical singletracks, last thing I want to do is lift my bike over my head.

I just remove the wheels from my mountain bike and stick it in the trunk, fits perfect.

I almost got killed by one of those things,

some fools attached snowboards to a roof rack and drove, well the boards caught lots of air cause they were on an angle and the whole rack flew into the air, i dodged it and swerved into the next lane to stay alive, this was on a major hwy going 120 Km/h...

For whay it's worth, unless your bike has an extra large frame, there should be no reason that it would would not fit in the trunk once you remove your wheels.

lol 40 y/o virgin FTW

I too was almost killed by one of those things, I was following a friend of mine up to his fiancee's camp, and on the highway there was this little mid-90's corolla that had a bike-rack, with like 5 bikes on it, no joke. I called by buddy in front of me to comment on how rediculous it looked, because it was obviously meant for only one bike, they had them tied together and chained to the rack. As we were talking, we went over an overpass and the bump from the bridge connectors broke the rack, one bike was on the road getting dragged at 70mph, another one almost did a ghostie, but didnt quite make it off the road, and the other 3 were just barely hanging on to the rack. We were swerving trying to miss the bikes, and to make it worse, they slammed on the brakes not slowed down, so we also had that to avoid.

so make sure you don't overload the rack, because
BIKE RACKS CAN KILL

Putting that rack on the back of your Max is just as big a pain as taking the wheels off the bike. I've done both, prefer removing the wheels. I also don't have to worry that my bike will go flying into traffic.

I don't do these kinds of things to my max... i got a 02 quest for that which is slow as hell but has very impressive bottom end power for towing.

Do Ptatohed's back seat fold up mod, found on VQPower.com. Bike now will fit in the trunk/backseat. No need to take wheels off the bike either.

Yep, my ghetto 7yr/~2500 mile old GT Saddleback.

Totally understand where you're coming from, I wouldn't want to either after that.

My Max got blessed with the bike hauling duties since two bikes don't really fit well in my two door Toyota or BMW. It was either a rack or a purple Chevy Lumina for hauling...no contest there.

nissan6: why is the rack so high? it should sit further back and out.
I had a Saris Bones and it f-ed up my trunk, bumper and spoiler. Damn strap clamps. I wouldve gone Thule Roof Rack if i rode more but i just stick it in the trunk.

Ludacris' car looked freakin sweet with that Yakima on there.
