N/A 3L cracks 12's

Posting here for those who don't check the 1/4 mile forum.

Set some new PB's yesterday at the track. The "little" old 3L went 12.83 @ 106.90 mph. On another pass it trapped 108.26 mph (on a 12.90 ET).

See the video, timeslip, more detail etc here.

this video is definitely 4:3.

it's kind of like anamorphic letterbox--it's a widescreen frame, but with black bars on either side of the letterbox video.

Sorry I guess you're right, I'm not being specific enough. The overall video is 4:3 yes but the portion showing the actual race, that's letterboxed because it was originally shot in true 16x9 widescreen, so as long as you're seeing the letterboxing top and bottom and the car in the correct proportion, not looking tall and squished then the video is correct. In the first video the car was out of proportion...

Didn't need it before with an engine that was stock internally, the EU was enough...

Nope, was the other way around. Black bars on the sides of the squished video.

ARggh. I don't get it then. It seems to be showing up fine for me and lots of other people. If I open the file in WMPlayer it shows up correctly letterboxed. If you watch the StreetFire.net or YouTube version (just search my username) they are showing up correctly also.

Congrats!!!! on getting a 12sec out of your max and I knew that the 3.0 has some power there people just had to find the ways to drive better to get there with some N/A mods. I am hoping that we can sqeeze out a 11 or 10 barley that would be awesome. I know people were wondering if the 3.0 will hit the 12 mark. I hope you can get better and faster who knows who might be in the 11s. If a 4 banger hatchback can with N/A mods sure a max can. Goodluck.

Yeah I was in AUS for about 4 weeks, NZ for 4. When I was up Townsville way I did some white water rafting on the Tully, then moved up to Cairns to catch a SCUBA liveaboard. Had a great time! I'll have to look you up when/if I make it back down there.

Hmmm.. good question! Compared to stock you mean? As in which mods make the biggest gains/most reduction in ET?

I'd probably say the Cattman exhaust (header/y combo), the 00VI, and the EU if I had to choose. I'm not sure how much I've gained with the cams/valve train upgrades yet, since the tuning is still in progress and I don't have a dyno yet, but that's probably up there too, along with some other key factors such as the tire/wheel setup.
