My car, check it out. opinions welcome, - or +

Hey everyone. This is the car that had an engine+ trans swap, and was going to be sold, but it didn't do so hot because…. i don't know. I guess people were afraid that I switched the motor and trans in it, whatever. So I kept it, here is what I have done to it so far, let me hear some opinions. sorry if it's a little dirty, just came of the highway. Thanks for looking, hope you like something that you see!

btw, things i should mention that you see but yet you don;t. The car has got nismo lug nuts on it made by nissan that came form the dealership, and 4 were on back order so i replaced the missing ones with a oem lock set, which is why if you look at the lug nuts you see 4 black and one chrome. Also the headlights are retrofitted and have a TSX projector in them! they took me quite a while to do!

THe ever so growing, things to do next list,
1. BBK KIT-debating in my head iron 30mm 300zx kit with 2 pce cobra rotors, or something else such as brembo, willwood, etc etc. Concerned with the rear bias though. so....
2. H&R front drop only or Illumina's on Eibach springs
3.maybe tint,maybe not.
4. audio/video upgrade
5 ??? lol did not get to five yet

FYI, Iron 300zx calipers are not 30mm.

The only 30mm calipers are aluminum.

nope, i know for a fact, there is a 26mm iron 300zx caliper, a 30mm aluminum, and a 30mm iron one.

i like the stock wheels, too. but the reason they are off the car is because they are not as wide, are a lot heavier, and do not match with the theme of the car. all the mods I did do far are more based on performance than looks.

and you need your fogs blacked out, jk. anyway what % looks good on a silver max? I think it might be too much black on the car if you know what I mean. anyway I am going to get a drop and see how it looks. tint comes later, i might wait until winter is over too.

few things:

great choice in rims, although i'm not sure why you powdercoated 'em.

lower it ASAP, both H&Rs and Eibachs are great choices--go with H&Rs for a bit more comfort and Eibachs for a bit more performance. Illuminas are great but if you want to be baller spring for Konis.

those headlights would be awesome if they house OEM HID projectors. otherwise, do a retrofit. they kind of look like they could be TL bixenons but there's no "tab" on the bottom of the projector for the solenoid.

and #5 is profit.

thanks, and for the record "I" never powder coated them, I bought them that way. So some 350z guy must have done that. I just thought they would be something different and would look good. I think that they may not be the "best choice" in the look good but they sure are in the performance. I am comparing to 19" G35 rays, and 19" M45 wheels (I think they might be a bit heavy though). I bought these because they are super light. I can always refinish them myself later on. I already have H&R's on the way and I am just going to put them in the front on stock struts. I have heard a lot of people doing that and really liking it. So I will see. I do not understand what you mean by saying these headlights would be good if they had oem projectors. Since they are retrofitted, with TSX projectors. They are also color moded. These are no good for tl projectors because I already have a high beam, so all I need are low beam only. I don't know if you didn't notice, or they just look that stock, which is good. and I do not understand what you mean #5 either.

you couldn't pick what #5 was, so i said just go with profit. if you haven't seen south park or been on the internets a lot i guess you wouldn't get the reference though.

anyway it's good that they're retrofitted, but i couldn't tell--those headlights come from ebay with projectors already in them IIRC... also the retro kind of seems like the projectors are sitting at the bottom of the opening there, if it's possible you might want to try and move them up a bit so they're centered.

Car looks nice, dirty but nice. I like the 350Z tracks, especially painted actually while I dislike dark rims very much. I was going to knock on the eBay housings, but +1 on the TSX retrofit. Keep it up... but get a drop. The max needs suspension mods before anything.

yeah they did come with h4 projectors, and the next day they were on my bedroom floor. Yes it is possible to shift them up since I attached them to the original bracket. As for aiming them, I will do that when I get the H&R's put on. As for now they are aimed good, and If I lower the car I know I will have to re-aim them.

Should have Time Attacked the wheels =P
You just need tint and you're set! What size tire are you running in the back? Do you rub?

I don't understand your first comment, maybe to late at night or something but...

As to answer your question, I got a 245/45/18 tire on the back and it only rubs if I hit a railroad crossing, or a very large hole. I have checked where that might be and it's on the fender. So I will just roll them a little bit later on, when I have some free time or get bored. No big issue though, since it happens rare.

+1 more pic added
