Auto transmission questions?

I just bought a 1989 Nissan Maxima with an automatic and 3.0 cyl engine.

On the center console???? the a/t switch says Power and comfort.

What is the best mode to drive in and why 3 options?

Thanks

Larry

I leave it in the middle, i let the transmission handle it... it is just so you can feel the power of the car (or so i heard) not really sure... anyone else know why?

From my understanding, if placed n P the tranny shift's at higher RPM's giving the car a sportier feel n when n C it shift's alot sooner. Correct me if I'm wrong N E one.

Icali1 is right. In P, shifts at higher RPM. In C, shifts a low so it's smooth (will not shift at high RPM even if you force it). The middle is just automatic/normal driving. Some people leave it in P all the time though.

you hit the gas hard then it switches to power.
