Detailed the Z. Huge pics inside.

Look at the sun in the first two pics. Where as the reflection of the sun is a little gritty in the first, and shows some swirling, the following image is a much smoother reflection. The results speak for themselves:

Before:

After Meguiar's 83 (before seal):

Final daytime pics, after 24 hour cure time:

Products used were with friend's Porter Cable:

Clay Bar
Meguiar's 83
Meguiar's NXT Tech-Wax

I finished it off the next day by going over the entire car with Ultimate Quik Detailer to get the little grains of wax gone, and whatever residue I didn't get to during the buff out.

Always use two towels when applying UQD, btw. If you don't, the product will leave a haze that you can see under the sun - and you may think it's swirling. It isn't, you need a dry towel to rub finest trails of the UQD out.

Polish and compounding is what makes most of the shine, but clay bar is the essential first step. You can't just clay bar and think it'll shine. With the contaminants of the paint gone after claying, now it's time to repair whatever imperfections the paint has. And then top it off with the seal. =)

Thanks for the compliments, guys.

I used a clay bar on my black Z and it came out real nice. The next day it was dirty again. I hate black cars.

Very clean. Nice detailing job. Is there a reason you didn't do it by hand?

It's virtually impossible not to. But I believe the lip already had those scrapes when I bought the car.

Quicker, easier, and better results, imo.

Besides, two months ago I did it by hand and it took 7 hours, including clay.

Nothing wrong with posting pictures of your cars here in this section whether it's a Maxima or not.

No luck needed. You should've seen my Maxima. Pristine paint when I sold it, got an extra 1K for it during trade-in. Dealer had no problem moving the car in only 3 weeks for $11.5k with 76k miles on it. Granted my mods did remain (OEM 2K2/2K3 HIDs, TE rims, H&R drop, sat. radio, MP3 player aux, etc.)

In any case, I am getting a clear bra installed at the end of the month.
