HELP: P0710 Transmission Fluid Temp Sensor? Hard shifts & no O/D

Hey guys...I got quite a little situation here with my father's Maxima. I got him a 99 SE Limited (90k miles currently) a couple years back for his 60th and he absolutely loves it, but about 3 weeks ago it started to shift VERY hard and will not shift into 4th gear (overdrive) at all.

I checked codes and the only one I got is P0710 which is Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor...but I know the Maxima doesnt have a tranny fluid temp sensor so does anyone know whats up with this thing? Is it one or more solenoids?

If anyone has any advice or has had a similar problem and knows how to solve it, please let me know. Thanks

DESCRIPTION:
The A/T fluid temperature sensor detects the A/T fluid temperature and sends a signal to the TCM.

Straight out of the FSM, and considering you have a code for it......... Hummmmm....... Sensor is bad or there is a problem with the harness or connectors. That's straight from the FSM as well.

Yes, it does.

It's on the solenoid pack, but it's not integrated with any of the solenoids. It's hanging off by itself, secured on the valve body.

I've got a solenoid pack laying around here somewhere, I'll get a pic up in a minute.

The black item on the bracket is the temp sensor:

AH! Wow...thanks a million. You've definitely been very helpful. Wanna sell that temp sensor or the whole solenoid pack?

Sure, I just have it sitting it around from my old trans. This should be the updated set I bought from Nissan shortly before my trans finally kicked the bucket, so to speak. At worst you can use just the temp sensor...from Nissan you'd need to get the entire pack at about $130ish. How's $40 shipped (assuming your continental US)?
