"Yellow or Fogged Headlamp" FIX

You can finally fix those Yellow of Fogged headlamp lens. I got the idea from Acura-legend.com. First of all there is more than one way to do it. You can buy a kit from Pepboys or Autozone made by Permatex. Permatex® Headlight Lens Restoration Kit. you can go to Permatex.com and see a video on how-to.

First I masked the grill, sidemarler and bumper with tape. Sanding the lens with 1000 grit with water, left to right. Do not sand in circular motion. Sand for 5 to 10min., depending on how clouded lens is. Rinse with water. Went to Home Depot bought a 5" sanding disk that attaches to a drill. Insted of sand paper, I tied a small cotton rag to the disk. I poured some Bluemagic
Plastic & Plexiglass cleaner and Light Scratch Remover onto the rag and buff the lens. Wow it looks good. I have pics but don't know how to post them. Good luck.

Meguiar's PlastX works really well. I would suggest doing it without sanding first and see if it works. Sand only as a last resort to remove pitting/chipping. The "fog" is just a thin layer of oxidation that should buff out with the proper polish.

I have found that that plastx is only a temp fix at best. once you wash, you need to re-apply. It looks nice, but no where near a perm. fix.
I've got that same peratex kit sitting in my garage just waiting for me to get off my lazy **** and use it.
I will post pictures once I actually use it.
