Thinking of selling 4th gen and getting a Q45

Thoughts? I just want something quieter and more luxurious, and of course RWD. Not to compete or any bull**** like that, just to have it. I miss my s13, it was such a fun car to drive. Going from RWD to FWD sucked...felt like I didn't have the same control over the car, the connection was lost...Driving my brother's Lexus GS300 is FUN, I want that again...

Anyways, what are your thoughts? Obviously I will have to shell a little money to get something good, or if I find a needle in a haystack very little if any at all. I have been lurking on some of their boards and the only issues I see are knock sensor and regular maintenance.

Which generation were you looking at? I almost made that move a few years a go. I rethought it. Even if i did get one, it be the previous generation, AND I would keep my current cars (95/03 Maximas)

my buddy has a 99 q45. the 4.1l engine is not that fast but it will do a brake stand and it sounds pretty nice. its a nice car but parts are hard to come by since it rare. you call up a parts store and they are like a what? its way too big of a boat for me. i dont really care for the ride on the highway even with the sport button on.

If the big car is what you want Q's are killer. A buddy of mine has a 94 that he does nothing on except oil changes, the things got like 145k on it, original plugs, he trailers a motorcycle sometimes, and the thing just keeps on going no problems, so nice to drive.

Good luck man

thats stock

now get the updated throttle and ecu update reprogram from a dealership, they do it free I believe, do a custom intake and you have a literal beast, my friend has one, the thing hauls, not the fastest thing on the planet, he had it dynoed at something like 315whp with the updates from the dealership. but still its an impressive car. I want one, it may very well be my next car

If you are looking for a car that even slightly reminds you of your S13 dont get a q45. Your 4th gen is closer to a s13 than a q45. There is absolutly nothing wrong with the q45s if you dont mind a lincoln town car style ride. It is one of the floatier cars I've ever driven.

I would highly suggest saving yourself some cash and investing in probably the best car infiniti has ever made, the G35. Get a G35 sedan and I think you'll find what your looking for, and you could probably find one for under 20K.

Do it! It blows away the Gs300 in every way.

I would say go for it if that is what you want. There are some people that may disagree an here b/c they prefer performance over style, but that is their preference. I like both personally. I appreciate all cars for their different qualities if they are done right. VIP styling is sweet in my book. (Maybe its the daygo in me), but I have considered a GS300 for a while now. I love my Max, don't misunderstand, just sometimes you want something else. Just do know a Q will get way worse gas mileage then your Max, IF that is a concern. But other than that, do it! You can always get another Max, or keep your Max and build the Q too!

The earlier Q's were much sportier. I wouldn't get a Q now, get a G35 or even an M35. M35 looks SEXY

Im looking at the Y33s (97+) The newer 02+s look like boats and way to big. I have been in a Q 45 and it drives real nice. I don't want a ride like the s13, I just want RWD again. Nothing like driving a RWD car. I don't want it to outperform Evos, just something with minor suspension mods and wheels that I can drive ever day. Plus the VH is MEAN.

I don't have 20K to spend on a car, college student and all. Looking at around 10K and below. The Y33s can be had for around that price. If I am patient I can probably find a really good one for around 8K-10k...

Sorry if this was posted in the wrong section, figured having a 4th gen and all

This is what I am shooting for, something nice and clean...

Or maybe a little more aggressive. Just wheels and drop, possibly aero is all I would do...

the second one is nice. being familiar with s13/14 is a plus because most of the suspension parts used to drop are from the s chassis from what i've seen.

I'd go for an earlier M45. If you look you can find one for abour 14 or 15K. I think it's less old manish than the Q45.

Yup a lot of the suspension parts can be used on the Q. Not a lot of support for suspension though. Just 2K JIC's and parts imported from Japan. If I get it I would probably import Tein S-techs and KYB SRs...

Time to put the Max in the paper
